Great supplement for science curriculumJul 01, 2010 I home school our sons (ages 7 and 10). We co-op with another family with boys the same ages. We used this set to supplement the curriculum we were using on the human body. We were able to use the experiments and outlines the kit provided. This set really reinforced what the boys were learning and they enjoyed each experiment we did, even sticking the bone and organ stickers onto the large poster. We will definitely buy more Magic School bus sets.
Fun, but not very scientificJun 19, 2010 I bought this for my homeschooled 5 year-old. He really enjoyed working through the experiments, and he particularly loves the life-size poster that still hangs on his wall. My concern is that the experiments didn't always work well, and sometimes didn't really illustrate the principle that was being taught. For example, the model diaphragm required a sheet of rubber to be taped over a cut soda bottle... that was extremely finicky to get airtight, and I barely got it to work. My son certainly couldn't do it himself. Also, the poster comes with stickers of body parts which are supposed to correspond to the experiments, but they don't. I hate to quibble, since the poster was his favorite part of the kit; it's just the kind of inconsistency that caused me to see this as more of a toy than an educational resource.
Great educational funJan 09, 2010 I bought this product for my 8 year old grand-daughter at Christmas. It was a delight to see her excitement in seeing it for the first time. She has gotten many hours of fun from this as well as an education on the human body. This product incites growth in young imaginations.

Not what I expectedDec 28, 2009 This toy was not what I expected. I bought this toy for my five year old son who has Aspergers. He is on a second level and is obsessed with being a doctor, so anything dealing with anatomy is right up his alley. But we had to assist him with this toy because the booklet read like stereo instructions. The experiments are nice, but my son was really looking to get more details about body functions and names.

A little too complicated for my 6 year old...Dec 27, 2009 Probably my mistake for getting it for her, but it was a little too complicated for my 6 yo.
